Stop smoking advice and support
All the GP’s are keen to help you to stop smoking and to start whatever treatment you are happy with, is safe, and is likely to be effective. But the follow up has to be through our specially trained practice nurse, Mandy Allen.
To continue receiving medication you have to be seen or to make contact with Mandy on a regular basis. Because of her skills we have one of the highest success rates in the Southern Area.
Help is also available through the Northern Pharmacy, based alongside the Health Centre, and most other pharmacies.
There is a charge made for certain items not covered by the NHS, e.g. BUPA / PPP claim forms, private certificates, passport forms, medicals for sports, driving and employment, certain letters, e.g. to solicitors.
In some instances these are best resolved with the staff you are dealing with, i.e. delays in being seen. Where staff are unable to deal with the matter or you decide later that you are dissatisfied with the outcome you may contact the Practice Manager who also investigates complaints. Your complaint will be acknowledged within 3 working days and within 10 you will be given a response and offered a meeting if necessary to discuss. If you feel the matter would be best dealt with externally you may contact the Health & S C Board, Complaints Office, 12-22 Linenhall Street Belfast 082 9032 1313. This procedure does not deal with matters of legal liability or compensation but we hope you will use it to give us an opportunity of looking into and if necessary correcting any problem that may have arisen.
